Recommended Learning Songs

Throughout my twelve years of teaching, I have embraced the theory that musical learning songs better help students retain information. Mnemonic devices do help most people remember or retain important facts. People who sing songs to learn important concepts will usually retain this information throughout life. Former students tell me they still remember the songs they learned in school. Although some students are not immediate fans of singing learning songs, with enough encouragement and good modelling, most will embrace this style of learning.

Muscial Recall's Greatest Hits

Tim Pacific's CD, Musical Recall's Greatest Hits contains two good learning songs called the US Capitals Song and the US Presidents Song. This CD also contains instrumental versions of each song.

Declaration of Independence Song

Jack Boyd and his daughter Stephy Boyd have created a song of the exact words of the first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence. It is called the Declaration Song and the CD also includes an instrumental version of the song.
